Eötvös Museum of Natural History (Eötvös Loránd University)
The Eötvös Museum of Natural History is located at the Lágymányos riverside campus of the Eötvös Loránd University, between the Petőfi and Rákóczi bridges, on the Buda side. It is open from 15.00 to 23.00 on the Museums’ Night.
The Building 1/C (dark reddish cube) hosts the historic Mineral and Rock Hall, the Biology and Palaeontology Exhibition, the Mathematics Collection Snapshots (from 18.00 open), the Explore Nature! area (with microscopes, games, puzzles and exploration sheets), the exclusive drawing exhibition of the Mineral and Fossil of the Year programs as well as the Crystals on the Catwalk projected mineral photo show. The building will have only one entrance open (facing north).
The Museum is accessible by public transport: by Museum bus 4 (Törley Line), from the stop Egyetemváros – A38 port (bus stops between the two buildings), by trams 4-6 from the stop Petőfi-bridge (Buda side), by tram 1 from the stop Infopark.
Please note: the tram 4-6 is replaced by buses between the end-station Újbuda-központ/Móricz Zsigmond tér and the station Corvin-negyed (including the stop related to our Museum).
Between the two buildings, a MOL BUBI docker station is available, too.
Visitors arriving by car may use the parking lot of the University Campus: it is accessible only from the Magyar tudósok körútja (boulevard), at the barrier closer to the Danube. Departure is possible to the Magyar tudósok körútja (boulevard), at the barrier farther from the Danube, or at the barrier in front of building A. Ringing the bell might be necessary on both arrival and departure.
